As our patients know, Dr. Doray is always striving to improve your dental experience.  To that end, we are happy to announce that our practice is the first in the region to employ new technology which, in many cases, will eliminate the need for traditional impressions for patients needing crowns, bridges and veneers.  It’s called the Lava Chairside Oral Scanner (COS) from 3M ESPE, and it creates a virtual model of your teeth, no impression material necessary.

Through the years many patients like you have expressed their dislike of the traditional impression process which can be messy and uncomfortable.  Now with this device, Dr. Doray can capture digital images which are compiled in real time to create a highly accurate three dimensional virtual model.  By simply gliding a small lightweight wand over your teeth, the dental anatomy is recorded in precise detail and is simultaneously displayed on a chair-side monitor.  You have a much more comfortable and interactive experience.  Dr. Doray gets highly detailed information that in the past may have taken multiple impressions to achieve.  Then you both can review, rotate, enlarge and even use 3D glasses to view the ‘digital impression’ on the touch screen monitor. 

The digital file is then uploaded to a dental lab so your final restorations can be created.  Best of all, this comes at no extra cost to you.  Restorations created using this new technology are the same cost as those created using the traditional impression method.
